Runner-up of BBB 24 and praised for his politeness and respect towards the other participants, Matteus Amaral was outraged by the criticism he has been receiving on social media for having traveled to Manaus in the middle of the storm that devastated Rio Grande do Sul. The student of Agricultural Engineering spends days in the capital of Amazonas alongside Isabelle Nogueira, with whom he had a romance on the reality show.
The former pawn from Alegrete, in the southwest region of Rio Grande do Sul, broadcast live on Instagram this Wednesday (8) to respond to the comments. “If it’s not going to help, then don’t get in the way. Don’t keep making unpleasant comments, put yourself in my shoes. I’m doing everything I can to help…”, replied Matteus, who continued “The whole of Brazil is engaged. People from Amazonas, from Stop, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you are doing for my state.”
Even far from his homeland, the ex-brother has helped with donations. The online fundraising promoted by him and other celebrities has already raised more than R$50 million for the victims. The money has been allocated to help schools, shelters and charities that suffered from heavy rains in the state. “We’re going to help a lot of people, we’re going to make a difference and everything will be fine, okay? I’m not moving here for nothing,” said the former BBB 24 star.
