The beloved artist and son of Stamatis Kokota, Dimitris Kokotas, is in intensive care for the 51st day after suffering a cardiac arrest on March 28 during rehearsals for the TV music show J2US where he participated as a coach.
All this time that has been excruciatingly late for his family and the people who know and love him, the treating doctors are doing everything humanly possible to help Dimitris Kokota recover from the great adventure he is going through with his health.
But even despite the fact that since before Easter, he seems to be able to breathe and without the help of mechanical support, they are holding the tracheostomy procedure so that his heart is not strained at all.
According to the skai.gr report, the beloved singer remains stable, under mild sedation, opening his eyes but at least so far uncommunicative. As they have informed, in fact, his own people’s doctors are not yet able to tell them if he can see or hear them.
It is expected that next week they will carry out multiple new tests in order to have a complete picture of his condition.
One of the signs that are perceived, however, as positive, is that during the physical therapy he has been doing for some time now, his body seems to be reacting to the pain.
However, according to his treating doctors, any progress is expected to be slow, since similar cases – and they are considered rare, since they were caused by heart damage – listed in the world literature refer to long periods of time – months – as a recovery period.
This, of course, is known to his family, who have not stopped for a moment to stand by his side, waiting for the day when Dimitris will regain communication with his environment.
