A list of three Greek islands offered for holidays in May and June has been published by Italy’s most popular travel website, My Greek Salad, which specializes in Greek destinations.

According to the Italian website, the Astypaleathe Naxos and the Skopelos they offer excellent and versatile experiences before the high season, according to the impressions of hundreds of friends on the blog and social media. In the context of the tribute, the beautiful Astypalaia is an island of the Dodecanese that “aesthetically” reminds more of an island of the Cyclades.

Chora with its mills, beaches and above all the feeling that time stands still here, fascinate Italian travelers. The pioneering “green” project that will provide 100% sustainable mobility for vehicles is making a big impression internationally.

The second place is occupied by Naxos, which, as the editor of the list points out, is an ideal place for those who love the real Greece, full of sandy beaches, mountain villages, alternative activities and picturesque, enchanting squares dominated by plane trees.

The list is completed with Skopelos which according to My Greek Salad is a destination where the blue of the sea and the green of nature are offered in generous quantities and which despite its reputation as the island of Mamma Mia has managed to remain authentic, quality and peaceful .

Representatives of the three Municipalities who, in consultation with the website, systematically inform the Italian traveling public, refer to the trends shaping the new season.

“In recent years, Astypalaia has “invested” in actions to strengthen extroversion, with the result that it becomes a pole of attraction for new and “traditional” markets, before and after the tourist peak. Sustainability, a main component of our new identity, now “touches” a category of sensitized tourists that is constantly growing”, says the Deputy Mayor of Tourism of the Municipality of Astypalaia, Kostas Kambylis.

“Naxos is developing into a destination that breaks away from the sun-sea model and provides a non-mass tourist “product” at reasonable prices that our guests enjoy from spring to autumn. Hiking, cycling, diving, water sports, island hopping in the Small Cyclades, gastronomy, traditions and rich history are the point of reference for thousands of tourists from Europe, America, Australia and even Asia who want to experience what they have dreamed of”, emphasizes the Deputy Mayor of Naxos Tourism and Small Cyclades Vangelis Katsaras.

“Skopelos is a unique case of a destination that has not been “beaten” by the big movie success, but remains authentic by making steady steps of progress and gentle development. Targeted exposure, weddings, alternative activity options and the inextricable connection of local production and art with tradition and untouched natural beauty in a Mamma Mia atmosphere led to record attendance last year and created a new dynamic for 2024,” said the president of the Tourism Committee of the Municipality of Skopelos Eva Karamesini.
