As for how she relaxes, the rapper revealed that she likes to spend her free time at home
Cardi B talked about her seven-year marriage to her husband, Offsetafter their brief split in December 2023. The famous artist was interviewed and photographed for the June issue of ‘Rolling Stone’ magazine.
The 31-year-old rapper announced in an Instagram Live in December that she was single, but this state of…loneliness didn’t last long. The mother-of-two, who has since gone on several dates with her husband, spoke about how she felt when she first saw him.
“When I met Offset, he was super rich and I had just put my first $200,000 in the bank,” he remembered. “He never made me feel like I was small to him. In fact, he always said to me, ‘You’re a superstar, look.'”
His support was a breath of fresh air, compared to a previous partner who, she said, made her feel too strong, powerless and weak. “Once I cut him off and stopped caring what he thought of me, I started making Instagram videos. That’s how I became famous”the rapper said.
While discussing the challenges in her marriage, the performer admitted that they both had their own weaknesses. “We have our bad things,” he stressed. “We are from two different worlds. Sometimes I can’t be… not that I can’t be a husband. It’s just that my career is taking over my life. Do you understand what I’m saying? My career comes first and then my children. And sometimes I don’t realize I’m putting so many things above my relationship.”Cardi B revealed.
Still, the performer says she doesn’t “want to grow up.” “I remember last year when we were going through our rough times and they said, ‘Put your album out. You’re too stressed. When was the last time we went on vacation?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t have time to go on vacation, because this is important.’ That comes first and my kids come second. Then there are the little things I have to take care of. Sometimes I feel like I put my relationship last.”
As for how she relaxes, the artist revealed that she likes to spend her free time at home.
“When I was off social media and no one knew what I was doing, I was very calm. However, I can’t not post or work again due to lull. I never want my daughter or my son to give up something because they can’t handle the pressure of what people say about them. I have to set this example”, she added, pointing out that she still feels the need to prove something to her kids and the haters. Cardi and Offset have two children.
