Nicola Coughlan, 37, and Luke Newton, 31, are in Rio de Janeiro. The actors are known for their characters Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton and star in the third season of “Bridgerton”, a hit on Netflix.
Their arrival was announced by the streaming service with an action in Porto Maravilha, in the central region of Rio de Janeiro. The lights of the Ferris wheel at the site formed the phrase: “Welcome, Polin”. Polin is the combination of the names Penelope and Colin and is the way fans refer to the couple.
The images were published on Netflix’s social networks, leaving fans excited. This Sunday (19), the actors appeared in videos in the city. “Hello, Brazil! Hi, Polin fans! We are here to visit you. We are so excited to see you. We are loving your wonderful country. We can’t wait to see you!”, they said.
The third season of “Bridgerton” premiered last Thursday (16). The episodes are centered on the couple, after the first follows the romance of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page) and the second follows in the footsteps of Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley).
The Netflix series skipped the order of Julia Quinn’s nine books. The third title focuses on the story of Bennedict (Luke Thompson), but showrunner Jess Brownell thought it was time to tell Penelope’s plot.
