Lakis Gavalas spoke to Fay’s Time today about the homophobic attack he received from Russian monks in an airport business lounge because he was wearing long pants. As he said, the three monks acted disparagingly towards everyone and one attacked him personally.

In fact, Lakis Gavalas challenged him to repeat his insulting expressions in order to record him on his mobile phone, and the monk did it without fear or passion.

Specifically, the monk asked the designer if he is male or female. Lakis Gavalas, obviously irritated by the question, retorted: “And what do you care? What are you, registry office?”

“What are you; Are you spiritual? Do you believe in God;”. “I am a monk” the monk replied. “And you will remain a monk”, Lakis Gavalas continued and suggested that he pray to God to be a good person first of all and not to care if he is a man or a woman.

But the story didn’t stop at the lounge. The monks boarded in first class and when Lakis Gavalas entered the plane and passed by them, the monk shouted “p@@stis – p@@stis”.
“Then I did something very bad, which I also confessed to my spiritual. I couldn’t stand it and pulled his beard” said the beloved designer-artist, clearly still confused.

“Such people have falsified the meaning of my religion, it was a dark time when I took this flight,” said Lakis Gavalas.

According to the report, these monks are not ordained priests, but live in isolated cells of a monastery on Mount Athos, probably in Karoulia of Athos.

Nevertheless, these three monks were found in the hall of first class, probably from private funding for a pilgrimage to Athens.

As Lakis Gavalas said, after the attack against him was announced on social media, many people sent him videos and photos of the same monks who harass other people.

The Holy Epistasia of Mount Athos is responsible for these monks, which, however, has not been placed in charge of the incident.
