A fan of “Dom”, Polliana Aleixo says that being called to participate in the final stretch of the series — the third and final season premieres on Friday (24) on Prime Video — was a dream come true. In the new episodes, she will appear as the sensual Kelly, who becomes involved with criminal leader Pedro Dom (Gabriel Leone) in exchange for safety, protection and power.

“When I was invited, a film played in my head”, recalls the actress, in an interview with F5. “I was delighted because I love true stories. This is a bold project, it has export potential, it has all the elements that people like”, she assesses.

To live Kelly, who abuses voluptuousness to get what she wants, Polliana took up stiletto dancing classes, a genre in which people dance in high, thin heels. “The body is a weapon for her. Within the context that surrounds her, it is what she has to achieve what she wants: comfort, protection and power. She has the opportunity to be next to the owner of Rocinha, with all the privilege and security”, he says.

“I realized that I needed to find this power in my body. It’s an explicit sensuality, a freedom with the body, at the same time, comfortable”, he describes. “I needed to have these sensations within me, to feel powerful to be able to translate this into her reality.”

MEMORY OF BRENO SILVEIRA

Died in 2022 at the age of 58, the creator and director of “Dom”, Breno Silveira, remained in the hearts of the entire cast and crew who took the project forward, says the actress. “It’s a season with a different flavor because we lost Breno. This project has affection, a heart from the entire team, there are many dreams involved”, says Polliana.

“On set, we felt his presence. It will be important to conclude this with so much love and affection. We were able to conclude something that we know how important it was for him. But without him. It was a beautiful thing to see”, he says .

Polliana, who recently played Patricia Abravanel in the cinema in “Silvio Santos – The Kidnapping”, says that she has a penchant for biographical roles. “I really like historical preparations. We’re talking about a story that happened, so I like to study how the country was politically at the time, what it was like to live on the outskirts at that time”, she says, returning to talking about “Dom”. “I did a historical study and rewatched a lot of the [duas primeiras] seasons”, he reports.

At the age of 11, Polliana debuted in the soap opera “Beleza Pura”. She stayed at Globo until she was 18, when projects for cinema and streaming began to appear. The career transition coincided with the transition from child actress to adult actress.

“I joke that I’m from the time of dinosaurs on TV. At that time there were only soap operas for us to do. When the first streamings started to come and cinema gained more space, it was a natural movement for me to want to explore these other work possibilities”, it says.

Now 28 years old, Polliana sees herself more as an actress in series and films, but does not rule out a return to soap operas. “I think I’m an actress because I’m very thirsty for life. I want to live as many lives as I can,” she says.
