He may not have been out of a job since he started his career on Saturdays, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t always stressed about it.

As he himself says Argyris Angelou but in an interview with Sozi on the occasion of the start of the performances “Reunion the Musical” at Pallas, the anxiety of waiting for the phone to ring for work is not something common.

“This year I’m not doing anything on TV and I haven’t discussed the year yet. I hope something will come, because I always love television, I am also her child” he said and continued: “ I’ve been very lucky on TV and I’ve done things I’m proud of that I was in them. I’ve seen the good face of TV and I can’t wait for something nice to come.”

-Do you now have the anxiety of the phone ringing, to be offered a job?

“I’ve learned to live with it. The feeling of despair when the phone doesn’t ring is unusualbut at least you tell yourself you’ve been through it before.
Personally, I am constantly stressed, but if you look at it objectively, in the 23 years that I have been working, you will see that I have never been without a job.

But each job from the next, has a period of insecurity. And that’s because I’m not one of those actors who knows right now what they’re going to do in the winter, so I can’t rest easy. I know what I’ll be doing this summer, but that’s about it. When the summer is over I’m sure I won’t know what I’m going to do in the winter. But for some reason, something always comes up.”

Argyris Angelou does not lose his smile

While when he was asked if, after all, with what he has lived through, he regretted becoming an actor, he answered:

“I have never regretted becoming an actor, at least until now. I don’t think anyone knows the difficulties when starting out.
Of course, others may tell him “where are you going to mess up”, but at this age we don’t listen to anything or anyone. We do whatever our head wants.
The reason for me to follow the acting profession was the theatrical process I experienced at school in a show we staged then. I like that this job has a teamwork, that you are not doing the same thing all the time.
It gives you the opportunity to search within yourself, it’s a job like no other and you never get bored. You meet new people, you do different genres. That’s what I wanted too, to be able to become an actor that someone can think about me for various things.”
