Emmy-winning actress and singer Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia will star in Amazon MGM Studios and Atomic Monster’s “one-of-a-kind crime series,” Obsession.

The series will be based on the bestseller “56 Days” by the Irish Catherine Ryan Howard (Catherine Ryan Howard) which was released in 2021.

Written and produced by Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher, the psychological thriller follows “Oliver (Jogia) and Ciara (Cameron), who meet by chance in a supermarket and fall quickly and dangerously in love. Fifty-six days later, Homicide investigators find a decomposing body in Oliver’s apartment. Will they be able to determine what really happened by cross-referencing the day of the investigation with the duration of the couple’s relationship? Will they find out if Ciara killed Oliver or did Oliver kill Ciara?” reads the official synopsis.

According to Deadline, Alethea Jones will direct the first two episodes.

The American actress and singer recently starred in the Apple TV+ musical ‘Schmigadoon!’ as well as in Mel Brooks’ comedy television series “History of the World: Part II”.

She became famous from Disney’s Descendants films with the first film’s soundtrack reaching the top of the Billboard 200.
