After undergoing two surgeries to drain bruises on the brain, Tony Ramos, 75, spoke in an interview with Fantástico about his state of health. The actor was discharged last Friday (24) and is now recovering at home.
The actor, who was hospitalized after feeling ill on the 16th, reported in the interview that he does not remember when the ambulance arrived. Only after waking up from the first surgery, he was informed by his wife, Lidiane, of what had happened.
“When I woke up, she told me: ‘Calm down, you’re okay'”, Tony recalls. At the hospital, he received a visit from the couple Luiz Villaça and Denise Fraga, director and co-star of the play “O que Só Sabe Juntos”, showing in São Paulo.
“It’s the show of my life”, said Tony, who remembers reciting the entire text of the play while he was in the ICU. “Lidiane even got scared. But I repeated the entire play and I was happy to have done it”, said the actor.
When asked by reporter Hélter Duarte if he felt afraid, Tony Ramos became emotional and said: “This man is a man of strength.”
“I’m the same man. An empathetic, non-prejudiced person, a fair man, a democrat, who believes in science and who believes in others,” he added.
Lidiane Barbosa reported that she found her husband unconscious in bed and called the ambulance. He was getting ready to go and record scenes for a film he is making with Lilia Cabral.
“He had been having a lot of headaches and taking a lot of medication”, reported Lidiane.
