Singer Preta Gil, 49, revealed in the videocast Mil e Uma Tretas that she has already suffered two miscarriages, one of them when the fetus was already five months old.
In the chat, the artist recalled past moments and anguish. It all happened during her marriage to Rafael Dragaud.
“I lost two babies after I had Francisco. I separated from Otávio [Müller], I married Rafael and we became pregnant with our first child. The pregnancy lasted until the fifth month. Until one day, during the ultrasound, Francisco was sitting on my leg and the doctor asked them to take him out of the room. They don’t say that the heart stopped”, he began.
“Until they told me that the baby’s heart had stopped. We tried to do a curettage and it didn’t work. So, I had to have a cesarean section to get the baby out,” he said.
According to Preta, the reason was the malformation of a chromosome due to her incompatibility with her ex-husband. “We might never be able to have children. This was devastating for us.”
Months after this episode, Preta lost a new baby, three months old at the time. “I felt ashamed for not being able to do it, for feeling incapable. It was chaos, but I overcame my feelings and lived. The second time I managed to do the curettage. That symbolized many things, and for us, as a couple, that was the end. I think that our marriage could not withstand that”, he stated.
