Supermodel sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid are donating $1 million to support relief efforts in Palestine.

According to the BBC, a representative for Bella said the money will be divided equally between four humanitarian organizations that focus on children and families affected by the conflict in Gaza. They are: Heal Palestine, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), World Central Kitchen (WCK), and United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).

The organizations fund food and medical programs, help displaced families and provide psychological services amid the war between Israel and Hamas.

The Hadid sisters’ father, Mohamed Anwar Hadid, before being a luxury real estate mogul, was one of approximately 700,000 Palestinians displaced from the land that was converted from a British protectorate to the territory of the state of Israel in 1948.

Due to their family background, the models have made their support for the Palestinian cause clear on several occasions.

In May, Bella said on Instagram that she was “devastated by the loss of the Palestinian people and the lack of empathy coming from government systems around the world.”

The donations follow a series of photographs of the model at the Cannes Film Festival last month, where she appeared in a red and white dress made from traditional Arabic fabric associated with Palestinian culture.

Following Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, Gigi wrote on Instagram: “My thoughts are with everyone affected by this unjustifiable tragedy, and every day that innocent lives are taken by this conflict – many of whom are children.

“I have deep empathy and sadness for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation, it is a responsibility I carry daily. While I have hopes and dreams for Palestinians, none of them include harming a Jewish person,” he added.
