Taylor Momsen, lead singer of the American rock band The Pretty Reckless, was bitten by a bat while performing the song “Witches Burn” in Seville, Spain. The band is on tour as the opening act for AC/DC’s “Power Up” tour.
Momsen posted a video on Instagram of the moment a bat lands on her leg during the show. “So… Rock and Roll Moment… in Sevilla on Wednesday during ‘Witches Burn’ of all songs… a bat flew at me and clung to my leg,” he wrote in the caption.
In the video, she appears to be unaware of the animal hanging from the side of her short dress as fans point at it, trying to get her attention. “I was performing and I had no idea until the incredible crowd kept shouting and pointing,” said the singer.

In the video, Momsen can be heard saying, “I must really be a witch.” That’s because the Portuguese translation of “Witches Burn”, the name of the song she was singing, is “witches burn”.
In the caption of her post, Momsen continues, “He was cute, but yes, he bit me… so rabies shots for the next two weeks. Thank you to all the hospital staff who nicknamed me #batgirl after seeing this in the news locations that morning.”
