The series of radio documentaries presented by Aris Portosalte with guest Mr. Konstantinos Koliopoulos is dedicated to the life of Napoleon Bonaparte. In the five shows that make it up, we will follow his journey from the French revolution to his coronation as Emperor of the French.

He is a controversial personality who was a brilliant general, politician, defender of freedoms, reformer and also the soldier who bled the whole of Europe.

In the broadcast of Sunday, June 2 in the fourth part of the series of broadcasts about Napoleon Bonaparte, the discussion began with an excerpt from the book of the biography of Napoleon by the German writer Emil Ludwig that referred to the Kremlin. After the victory of the French army at Borodino, the Russians abandoned Moscow and the Russian emperor went to Saint Petersburg refusing to sign peace. The French having suffered heavy losses in the battle, abandoned the fire-ravaged Moscow as the winter was severe and there was no possibility of resupply. After the retreat, Napoleon returned to France having suffered heavy losses. The battle of Leipzig followed, where Napoleon was defeated by the allied armies while refusing to sign the peace offer and this resulted in the invasion of France. While on the battlefield his enemies invaded Paris and he was forced to sign an abdication decree and was exiled to the island of Elba, retaining the title of emperor, from which he escaped a few months later returning to France. Finally, defeat at the Battle of Waterloo resulted in the end of his rule and his exile to the island of St. Helena where he died a few years later.
