Out of Globo since 2021, Tiago Leifert says he doesn’t miss having a boss, schedule and routine to follow. Enjoying his family full time and dedicating himself to his work on YouTube and social media, the presenter is living the routine of his dreams.
“I don’t miss TV. I learned a lot, there were a lot of cool things. It was many years, 16 years”, he said, in an interview with F5. The priority now is daughter Lua, three and a half years old.
“I make a point of taking her to and from school and spending as much time as possible with her. I want to see her grow. Now I no longer have to be in Rio de Janeiro the next day, I don’t have to play a game of discord on Monday at night. It’s great not to have a boss, not to have anyone telling me where I have to be”, he celebrates.
The presenter still considers himself an apprentice in the digital field, but says he is enjoying the new work environment. The only danger, he warns, is that you end up relaxing too much. “The complicated thing about working alone is that it can be lazy, as you can afford to do nothing,” he says.
Even major sporting events are out of the question for Tiago at the moment. “Could I go to the Copa América? .
He remembers with affection (but without much nostalgia) the exhausting routine at Globo. “It was very demanding, because I was doing more than one program. BBB was over, The Voice was already on, then it was December and it was time to select the cast for the new BBB. It was very busy,” he says.
NO WAY ABOUT CANCER
Lua, who in the first year of her life was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a type of cancer that affects the eyes, is still undergoing treatment, but continues to be a happy, spontaneous and personality-filled child, according to her doting father.
“It’s too early to be able to celebrate anything. Cancer is treacherous, it’s day after day”, he says. “But we try to give her the most normal life possible. She goes to school, has her friends. And completely ignores the treatment. I believe that some children who go through what she went through may become withdrawn, suspicious — and rightly so. But She doesn’t. She doesn’t care about cancer”, he says, proudly.
Lua may have taken after her father’s extroverted personality, but not his passion for sports. “She says: ‘Daddy, football is boring!'”, Tiago laughs.
