Luísa Sonza stated in an interview with Rádio Gaúcha that she will build a house for manicurist and hairdresser Anilda Castoldi, 81, a resident of Roca Sales who lost her home in the historic flood in Rio Grande do Sul.
The singer also said that she will help her manicurist’s neighbor, Norma, 89. Their reunion amidst the rubble in the city of Vale do Taquari went viral on the internet and moved the artist.
“She reminds me a lot of my grandmother (who is also a hairdresser),” said Luísa. The singer cited her German descent accent as another similarity between the two.

The artist and her father are arranging for the construction of the residences. Anilda had already won land through a campaign carried out by volunteers.
“We’ll be able to place them next to each other”, Luísa said about the neighbors.
In the reunion video, they say that they lived close to each other for 40 years and are now far apart. Anilda currently lives in the basement of her sister’s house. Norma lives with one of her children in a rented house.
The two have already faced three floods: in September and November 2023 and in May this year. The last one was the most serious: it destroyed the entire neighborhood where the friends lived. There was only one house left standing.
“It took them their entire lives to build and, at the age of 80, 90, they saw everything destroyed”, lamented Luísa.
The singer is from Tuparendi (504 km from Porto Alegre) from Rio Grande do Sul. She is one of the organizers of the charity festival “Salve o Sul”, which takes place this weekend in São Paulo and will have proceeds donated to flood victims.
