THE Taylor Swift arrives in Scotland as the biggest musical phenomenon of its time, even surpassing the “panic” caused by Madonna and Michael Jackson in the 1980s.

Her 152-date stage tour grossed more than $2 billion by the time it wrapped up in Canada in December.

And that, the BBC reports, doesn’t include merchandise sales, or her tour film, which topped the box office last year with $261 million.

Local actors estimate that the economy due to “Taylor push” has earned tens of millions of pounds.

It is indicative that a show at Seattle is said to have caused seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 Richter earthquake.

To mark her arrival in Scotland, trams have been decorated with her photo, Loch Tay has been renamed ‘Loch Tay Tay’ and Edinburgh Zoo has named two newborn, endangered tamarin monkeys ‘Taylor’ and ‘Swift’ .

With all the excitement, it’s easy to forget that the last time he played in the UK was on the Reputation Tour in 2018, when the stadiums weren’t packed. According to one report, opening night in Manchester had 18,000 empty seats.

So what changed?
