by

The atmosphere soured between the band Ultraje a Rigor and radio host Marco Antônio Abreu, better known as Titio Marco Antônio. The Kiss FM professional, from São Paulo, celebrated the station’s cancellation of a show by the group led by Roger Moreira and also called the musicians “fascists and bankrupts”.

“Thank God Kiss rethought and decided to cancel the radio’s anniversary show with the outrageous shit from Ultraje a Rigor. A radio as important as ours deserves a party of respect and not a group of bankrupt fascists”, wrote Uncle in his social network about the performance at Tokyo Marine Hall on July 13th for the radio’s 23rd anniversary.

The message was deleted, but the damage had already been done. The members of Ultraje a Rigor even asked for the broadcaster’s resignation and fans complained about the publication. Faced with the repercussion, the radio issued a note, highlighting its commitment to impartiality and respect for the public: “The publications made by our communicators on their personal pages do not reflect the opinion of Kiss FM and do not necessarily represent the values and principles of the broadcaster.”

Abreu received many messages of support on his profile, but he was also attacked by his followers. This Saturday (8), he returned to social media to apologize: “Friends, I would like to clarify that, in a moment of personal excitement, I made a mistake in criticizing a certain band and I felt that, without the slightest intention, I had harmed the broadcaster I work for”, he began. “I apologize to the broadcaster, my directors and the public. The criticism I made (my opinion has not changed) is strictly personal and does not reflect any of the outlets I work for.”

This Sunday (9), Roger spoke out and said that the band does not accept the excuses: “You’re going to learn to be responsible. Of course the coward won’t mention the band now. You’re going to have to prove what you said, scoundrel. In court. process is on its way. The process is coming. Fascist is your ass”, wrote the musician.
