Jude Law stated that he tried to play against his good looks at the age of 20, but today he regrets his choices.

Recall that the 51-year-old actor gained a reputation as a heartthrob and became world famous playing a series of classically handsome characters. He was the charming “playboy” Dickie Greenleaf in the 1999 film, “The Talented Mr Ripley”, and we also enjoyed him in romantic roles such as in “The Holiday”.

However, in his latest role, the historical film ‘Firebrand’, we saw him far from his usual attractive self as he transformed into ‘Henry H’.

Speaking to DuJour magazine, the actor said he found it “satisfying” to play an “unlikable” king, instead of his typical roles.

The Oscar-nominated actor stressed that he had tried to play less attractive roles when he was younger, claiming he can’t now because he’s “flabby and bald”. “I was trying to play against the looks, and now that I’m old and bald, I wish I’d played those roles.”

Law has won praise for his performance in the film, which focuses on the king’s final marriage, to Catherine Parr (played by Alicia Vikander). The famous actor had stated that he is not interested in the current monarchy, apart from its theatrical aspects. “I don’t really follow her,” he said. “I don’t like gossip. I don’t really enjoy it. I don’t find any interest in it and I don’t really like watching gossip stories.”
