Former player Robinho, 40, sentenced in Italy to nine years in prison under a closed regime for the crime of rape, has been imprisoned since March 22 in the Tremembé prison, in the interior of SP, after the STJ (Superior Court of Justice ) have approved the sentence and determined that the sentence will be served in Brazil.

According to the English newspaper The Sun, his life inside prison has been peaceful. To the publication, the former player’s lawyer, Mario Rosso Vale, said that the former athlete has been keeping busy in prison.

“Robinho is keeping his head down and moving forward quietly. He is being an exemplary inmate and has had no problems with other inmates. He is keeping busy,” he said.

According to the lawyer’s report, Robinho signed up for an electronics course and is learning how to repair TVs and radios. “He has to do 600 hours of remote learning to qualify in this field. It’s hard to say if he’s enjoying it or not, but it’s helping to pass the time,” he said.

Only after completing the entire course load will he be able to take a test. If approved, you may request a reduction in your sentence. For every 12 hours worked, one less day in jail. This way, Robinho could reduce his sentence by 50 days.

Furthermore, the publication states that the former player became a member of a Book Club and offered to run a program that distributes 500 books per month to prisoners.

Football also continues to be played. In April, he played his first match among the inmates of the unit, who provided a pair of football boots and took the former Santos, Real Madrid and Brazilian national team player to the clay pitch.
