Tom Hardy hinted at possibly starring in the upcoming spin-off of the BBC period crime drama, “Peaky Blinders”.

The series, which starred Oscar winner Cillian Murphy as gangster and businessman Tommy Shelby, ended in 2022 after six seasons. The creator, Steven Knight, has since proclaimed that he wants to wrap up the story in a subsequent film instead of a seventh season.

Hardy played Alfie Solomons in the Bafta-winning film, the leader of a gang based in Camden Town. Although the cast for the upcoming film has not been announced, Knight confirmed that Murphy will once again be in the lead role.

Now, Tom Hardy in an interview with Sky News has hinted that he will appear in the film.

“One hundred percent, Alfie will definitely make an appearance, but I don’t know when” he said.

Netflix confirmed the news that there would be a movie in a post on X/Twitter earlier this month.

“Thomas Shelby is back. A ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie starring Cillian Murphy is coming to Netflix” was announced by the streaming platform along with a photo of the film’s script.

The script for the currently untitled film is written by Knight and will be directed by Tom Harper, who directed several episodes of the show’s first season.
