Heir to plastic surgeon Ivo Pitanguy, Helcius Pitanguy has seen his name thrust into the spotlight after being accused by his then friend, psychologist Cristiane Correa Santa Catarina, 53, of failing to provide assistance.

In a statement to the police, she states that she was left adrift in the sea of ​​Angra dos Reis (RJ) after leaving Ilha dos Porcos using a stand-up paddle board, last Saturday night (15). As she reports, she tried to escape after an argument with Helcius.

Pitanguy is 62 years old and, according to his profile on the Linkedin platform, he has a law degree and speaks three languages: English, Italian and French. He is one of four children of the famous surgeon, who died in 2016 at the age of 93 from a cardiac arrest.

Helcius fights in court with his brothers Ivo, Gisela and Bernardo over the fortune left by his father. On Instagram, he has just over 690 followers and has no publications.

The lawyer has famous friends who occasionally pose with him for photos, including socialite Narcisa Tamborindeguy, who has visited Ilha dos Porcos, which belongs to the family. He also has a good relationship with businessman Álvaro Garnero and was once very close to presenters Luciana Gimenez and Gloria Maria (1949-2023). The latter referred to his father as “master”.

Helcius was contacted by F5 via WhatsApp and telephone, but did not respond to the report.

The lawyer closely followed, in 2017, the conviction of his brother, Ivo, who in 2015 ran over and killed a worker, in Gávea, south zone of Rio. At the time, his sentence of four years and eight months in prison was converted into seven hours of work per week in a clinic or institution specializing in the recovery of traffic victims, for the same period of the sentence.
