Among the important artists and renowned ensembles that the Megaro will host next season, we find, among others, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under Vassili Petrenko (13.10.2024), Theodoros Kourentzis (2 and 3.11. 2024), the Netherlands Dans Theater (6-9.11.2024), Arkadi Volontos (2.12.2024), Jonas Kaufman (9.2.2025), Leonidas Kavakos and Enrico Pace (22.3.2025), Joyce DiDonato ( 8.4.2025), Igor Levit (9.4.2025), and Hélène Grimaud (24.5.2025).

The public will still have the opportunity to enjoy on the stage of the Palace artists who stand out for their radical outlook, such as the violinist Patricia Kopatsinskaya and the Ensemble Resonanz (28.1.2025) and the dance group of Angelen Prelzokaz (13 and 14.4.2025 ). Also, the beloved Camerata‒Orchestra of Friends of Music will present, in the first quarter of the new season, two concerts on period instruments (30.11 and 27.12.2024).

Great artists, performers and conductors

The charismatic Theodoros Kourentzis and the Utopia Orchestra (2 and 3.11.2024) render in their own way the Symphony no. 5 by Gustav Mahler and perform in a world premiere the original composition entitled “Passacaglia” by Jay Schwartz dedicated to the international Greek maestro (sponsored by ALPHA BANK). Also, Patricia Kopatsinskaya, the distinguished violinist famous for her intense personality, subversive performances and her wide repertoire, collaborates with Ensemble Resonanz (28.1.2025), one of the most important music ensembles internationally that balance between classical and contemporary repertoire . In their concert at the Megaro, they will perform, among other things, a commissioned work by the leading representative of contemporary music Dai Fujikura.

New talents in the spotlight

The Athens Concert Hall introduces to the Greek audience Yunchan Lim (13.10.2024), who, in his appearance at the Christos Lambrakis Hall, collaborates with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vassili Petrenko. Yunchan Lim gained international recognition when he was named the youngest pianist to win first prize at the 2022 Van Cliburn International Competition at the age of just 18. Next season, the internationally renowned piano virtuoso Bruce Liu, winner of the 2021 International Chopin Competition, accompanied by the Amsterdam Sinfonietta (12.4.2025) also gives a concert at the Megaro.

A tribute to the voice

An important part of the program of the 2024-2025 season is dedicated to the voice, with guests, among others, two famous lyrical performers of our time, Jonas Kaufmann (9.2.2025) and Joyce DiDonato (8.4.2025).

Dance and contemporary music

The much-loved dance group Netherlands Danse Theater (NDT II) returns in November to Megaro (6, 7 and 8.11.2024) with three choreographies: the new work of the rising Greek choreographer Christos Papadopoulos as well as two creations by Crystal Pite and Girzi Kylian.

As part of the Spring Festival, Angelen Prelzokaz’s new creation entitled “Requiem(s)” is presented, one of the most innovative and emotionally charged works of contemporary dance (13 and 14.4.2025).

Camerata‒Orchestra of the Friends of Music

The Friends of Music Chamber Orchestra has scheduled two concerts for the first quarter of the new artistic season (30.11 and 27.12.2024). The December concert will be dedicated to the memory and vision of Christos Lambrakis for the diverse cultural activity of Megaros, to whom the creation of Camerata is due. Dates for the 2025 concerts will be announced soon.
