• Krama Festival 2024: A two-day multisensory journey at PLYFA

Krama Festival returns for its long-awaited fifth event on June 22 and 23, 2024 at PLYFA and invites us on a two-day multi-sensory journey, both in the experimental, as well as in the contemporary musical and visual spectrum. From free improvisation and experimental electronic music to avant-garde and future pop, Krama 2024 takes shape as a meeting of musical and visual artists, innovative creators and the music-loving public, inviting participants to a collective exploration of multi-layered events of modern creativity. Concerts, performances, visual installations and DIY workshops will be presented on three different stages by more than 25 artists. See the festival program in detail here.

  • Beta Peis together with Joker/Two-Face in Technopolis

Beta Peis after their explosive live show on April 19 and Joker/Two-Face after the tour in many cities of Greece, will appear in Technopolis for a unique live. Beta Peis consists of two mc’s, a music producer and a bass player: Asarkos or Christos (aka Logos 90 degrees or Third Eye), Hatemost or Akis (aka Prince XXIII), DwmndV and Rigo. Fortsatos or Paris (also known as Pure Form), Dask, Lambros, Elz, Mr. Tickles and J-turn. From 2003 to date, 12 albums have been released. With countless lives and millions of listens, on the other hand, the duo of Joker/Two-Face are two brothers, who came together through their common love for Hip-Hop and have since left their mark on the Greek scene here and there since 17 years.

Performance

The State Theater of Northern Greece in co-production with the cultural organization “Twilight” presents at the Athens Festival the play “Mr. Lin’s Beloved” by Philippe Claudel directed by Guy Cassiers, one of the most important contemporary directors and former Artistic Director of the Toneelhuis theater of Antwerp. The demanding role has been undertaken by one of the leading Greek actors, Konstantinos Markoulakis, signing the rendering of the work in Greek. Mr. Lin, holding in his arms Shang Dieu, his young granddaughter and the sole survivor of his family, leaves his war-torn village and arrives in Europe as a refugee. There, knowing nothing about the new country and not understanding the language of foreigners, he leaves his fate in the hands of the competent authorities who treat him. Until he meets Mr. Bark.

  • Ira Walrdron: Post-Soviet visual avant-garde at the Alex Mylonas Museum

Exhibition

MOMus, as custodian of the work of internationally renowned artist Ira Waldron, presents the first posthumous exhibition of her works at MOMus-Alex Mylonas Museum. Paintings, porcelain sculptures, textile compositions, works based on graphic design, works as a whole and deeply political in their essence make up the life work of Ira Walrdron, in the exhibition entitled “Circles that never close” presented until August 30, 2024 at MOMus-Alex Mylonas Museum, in Thisio, Athens. Ira Walrdron, who passed away prematurely in 2023, is one of the most characteristic cases of a purely international artistic presence that never rested in any artistic and stylistic stereotype. An artist of multiple expressive media, options and perspectives, she viewed history, society, the art market and every artistic expression through extremely high sensitivity frequencies.
