On his set Grigoris Arnautoglou and of “The 2Night Show» was found last night Petros Gaitanos.

The singer who is completely intertwined with the great Christian holiday of Easter explained the reasons why people identified him with it. He talked about his mistakes, his choices and also about the Eurovision song contest, which he revealed that he has always watched since he was a child.

“I watch Eurovision. Since I was a kid I watched every year because it is very close to my art and what I love very much. Eurovision has some elements that strike me as completely against the grain» said Petros Gaitanos and continued explaining what they are:

“I believe that extroversion and sociability harm young people rather than benefit them. Also, I don’t like so much shamelessness, they don’t need such sexual displays. This is not nice.

I believe that Eurovision should exemplify and highlight the evolution of what we call good European song in speech and music, representing the peoples and not just an English trend in language and manner. It’s like watching English bands».

To a question from Grigoris Arnautoglou about whether he himself would like to participate in the competition, Petros Gaitanos replied:

“What a scandalous person you are, Grigori. I wouldn’t go to Eurovision. If I try to express all that I believe, the conversation will turn to things that might offend.

Let me tell you something that may sound harsh. I have to say… There is a very demonic situation, no good mood, wild faces, ceremonies, magic, horns.

What does this whole thing need? What good is it?».

While a little later he revealed when was the last time he appeared in a nightclub and the mistakes he thinks he might have made and everyone has identified him with Easter:

“It has various causes. One reason is that I am the only artist involved in church music. There was a lot of exposure, people really want to hear me sing. The records have been bought by millions of people.
I could also put a blame on these people who if they are interested in seeing things that are very successful. It is so great that it has been displayed at Easter because it is the most prominent around the church.

And I through my spontaneous and naive attitude about my spiritual approach maybe got carried away and did more things. And I feel that all of that has characterized me a little more” emphasized the singer and continued:

“I feel like people want it and I’m ready to lighten things up. I used to work in a nightclub. The last time was with Giorgos Chatzinassios when we did both soundtracks and we were together with Alexia and Michalis Chatzigiannis in its first steps.

In 1991 I sang with Mitsias, Dimos, Arvanitakis and in 1992 with Moscholiou, Poulopoulos, Spanos, Dantes and Angelopoulos. I a young kid who grew up in my village, learning the song from these singers, I lived the dream. Then we worked 6 days a week and I am really happy and grateful to God that he gave me the opportunity to work with singers who were honorable!».
