The mansion that belonged to Pelé on Pernambuco beach, in Guarujá (SP) is in a state of abandonment, deterioration and vandalism. This was the penultimate residence in which the late player lived, before moving to another house with his widow Márcia Aoki.

With a swimming pool, football field, tennis court, room with the player’s collection and space for events, Pelé received many guests at the mansion. Today, on the other hand, photos of the site show unmaintained and unclean environments, tall grass and signs of vandalism. According to the G1 portal, thieves broke into the house and stole copper wires, leaving the land without power.

After Pelé’s death in 2022, the residence was destined for inheritance and was left under the care of his son Edinho. Also according to the G1 portal, the lawyer representing the King’s son claimed that the house had been vacated and the employees had been fired, with the player still alive. According to them, the deterioration would not have been influenced by death.

In March 2023, the São Paulo Court of Justice (TJSP) decreed judicial secrecy in Pelé’s inventory. The judge responsible understood that, as the former star was “a person known and recognized worldwide”, it was best for the process to be restricted to his heirs – the player’s seven living children, two grandchildren of a deceased daughter, and his widow, Márcia Aoki.
