Anitta composes samba-plot for Unidos da Tijuca about Candomblé

by

Singer Anitta joined other composers to create a samba and present it to Unidos da Tijuca to compete as the new samba for Carnival 2025.

As she is Logun-Edé’s daughter, the singer, despite her busy schedule, managed to take a break from her commitments to help create the song, with the plot “Logun-Edé – Holy boy that old man respects”, about the orixá son of Oxóssi and Oxum, worshiped in Candomblé.

Anitta composed the composition alongside singer Feyjão, Regina Casé’s husband, Estêvão Ciavatta, as well as composers Miguel Pinto Guimarães, Fred Camacho and interpreter Diego Nicolau.

“We called her and, immediately, she agreed to compose with us. We had some meetings to compose the samba together. We are in the process of recording the samba to present to the school”, says Feyjão in an audio sent to F5.

The competition at school to define the champion samba, which will be the theme of the next Carnival, will take place on August 1st.

This occurs a month after Anitta lost more than 200 thousand followers for talking about Candomblé in a music video.

“I’m committed to this music video. Not only for portraying a little of my spirituality without filters, but for showing that there is nothing wrong or hiding about what you believe,” she said in a statement sent to F5. “We Brazilians are a people of different faiths and roots.”

The singer addresses spirituality in the track “Aceita”, from her most recent album “Funk Generation”, and narrates the experiences of a spiritual entity, which celebrates its achievements on the streets.

“In the Candomblé tradition, I am the daughter of Logun-Edé, a mega complex orixá. Sensitive and brave, intelligent and clever, affectionate and pragmatic. This song translates these characteristics into my story.”
