The announcement of Eliana’s hiring by Globo this Thursday (27) became the talk of the day and it was the presenter herself who starred in a video about her arrival at the new broadcaster. In the post, she goes down the stairs at home, picks up her new badge and car keys from a corner table before saying goodbye to her children and leaving for work.
Former SBT colleague Celso Portiolli was one of the first celebrities to make a parody of the video and it didn’t take long for the episode to divide opinions. The presenter received praise for the imitation but was also heavily criticized and he then decided to explain himself about the joke. In addition to Portiolli, Mara Maravilha and Ratinho also made parodies of Eliana’s video.
“The little video I made there, imitating Eliana’s, is popular, right? There are people who said: ‘Oh, unnecessary, ridiculous’. It’s a joke, people! She’s making a dream come true, and I’m also making a dream come true of having seven hours of program on Sunday. Can’t I celebrate?” asked Portiolli who, for now, will have more time on the SBT schedule.
The presenter stated that he feels proud of the challenge. “Do you know what this is? Having seven hours on Sunday after 30 years working in the same company? I have to celebrate. I thought the idea in her video was a good idea and I did the same. What’s the problem? She celebrates her trip to Globo, which It’s a great broadcaster, and I celebrate my achievement of seven hours on Sunday on SBT”, he commented.
Portiolli also recalled that the only person who spent so many hours on the air on the channel on Sundays was Silvio Santos himself, and so he didn’t think it was anything special to celebrate. He emphasized that he has been friends with Eliana for many years. “Eliana is my friend, and I really rooted for her. You have no idea how great our friendship is, and I really rooted for her success. She knows that. Don’t worry, I’m not making fun of her. My friendship with her is beautiful,” he said.
