The villagers then visited him asking him to work and pray to God, because it had been raining on the island for 3 years, resulting in widespread drought and economic damage. He himself, in the presence of the islanders, worked and on the same day it began to rain, events which were taken as divine signs by the Aeginites. He was declared a Saint 40 years after his death and dozens of miracles are recorded in the history of the monastery.
