After undergoing two head surgeries two months ago, Tony Ramos, 75, returns to the stage this Friday (12), in São Paulo, with “O Que Só Sabe Juntos”, at the Tuca theater. It is the resumption of the play’s season, which ends a long 22-year gap for the actor away from theater productions.

Tony, who shares the stage with Denise Fraga, had premiered the play two weeks before falling ill in mid-May. The diagnosis: blood accumulation between the brain and the external lining.

Right after the rehearsal on Friday morning, Tony talked to the F5 by WhatsApp: “I am so happy to be back. It is a blessing. The season continues in São Paulo until August 18, when we will go to Rio de Janeiro for the season.” He continued: “I can only thank God for this permission. Onward.”

A little earlier, Denise Fraga shared a behind-the-scenes video of the rehearsal and wrote in the caption: “Life plays tricks on us. Life is mobile and surprising. And it never stops surprising us. And now we’re celebrating! He’s back!”, she exclaimed. The show’s director (and Denise’s husband), Luiz Villaça, posted a photo of the two actors.

On June 26, Tony returned to Estúdios Globo to film the last scenes in the film “A Lista”. In the plot, he plays Antenor, the romantic partner of the protagonist Laurita, played by Lilia Cabral. The film is a film adaptation of the play of the same name, written by Gustavo Pinheiro, and starring Lilia and her daughter, Giulia Bertolli.
