A new documentary about him Skepta is set to hit the cinema screens as part of his new partnership with the film production company H.Wood Media.

The documentary will be directed by Hector Dockrilwho has created films about the most important singers.

The documentary for the British rapper is the first project between Skepta’s production company 1PLUS1 Production and his Los Angeles-based team H.Wood Media. According to Variety, fans will witness a “compelling documentary about the artist that focuses on issues of cultural identity and art.”

Skepta recently received the Music Award Mercury and had his first cinematic experience with the short film “Tribal Mark” earlier this year.

“I feel like I’ve always had it in my mind to make a film,” he said and expressed his excitement about working with H.Wood Media.

“Skepta is definitely the perfect subject for us. His inspiring journey will resonate with audiences around the world and we are honored that he has trusted us to tell his story,” H.Wood Media said in a statement.

The British rapper and record producer was born in the city Tottenham from Nigerian parents he started his career as a DJ.

Skepta’s music career spans over two decades and he is now considered a UK grime music superstar.

With his first film he wanted to draw attention to the Nigerian culture and music that musicians such as Burna Boy and Davido and Tems have highlighted.

The documentary is expected to be released in 2025.
