In order to avoid exposing her voice after her gender transition, Maya Massafera had been communicating through written posts on social media or through videos in which she sent kisses and made the heart symbol with her hands. The gestures became a meme on social media and fueled speculation about the influencer’s voice.
She, however, put an end to the mystery and published a video in which she talks about the surgeries she underwent to feminize her speech. “I had two procedures, the last one fifteen days ago. It’s not ready yet, it’ll only be in three months,” she said.
The presenter stated that, now that she can talk more with her followers, she decided to talk about the word transvestite.
“I am a trans woman, I am a transvestite. It’s the same thing. Sometimes, people come to me to compliment me and say that I am so beautiful that I don’t even look like a trans woman, I look like a real woman. Lots of mistakes, I want to look trans, I am trans and I am a real woman. I was born a woman.”
In mid-June, the influencer said that her voice was failing after an unsuccessful surgery and that she had been trying to recover it. “Many times nothing comes out. So I decided to wait and speak in my own time.”
