Ana Hickmann cries during a lecture on domestic violence and shows bruises

At an event held by the Ressoar institute, a charitable organization linked to the Universal Church, Ana Hickmann spoke out about the domestic violence she allegedly experienced at the hands of her ex-husband, Alexandre Corrêa.

The presenter moved the audience and became emotional when detailing the attacks. In photos on the screen, she showed a bruise on her arm.

“The week that this mark on my arm happened was the week that I asked for help. I have never shown these images to anyone,” said the presenter, crying. Excerpts from the talk were published on her social media.

“This is to show you that there is no address, bank account, family name or skin color. All that changes is the name of the aggressor,” said Ana Hickmann. “We have to have the courage to report it.”

In another part of the talk, she detailed how she felt at the moment she reported Alexandre Corrêa. “A mixture of fear, anguish, physical pain, pain in my soul and shame. Yes, shame of admitting that the person who did all this to me is the father of my son,” she said.

The presenter also spoke about her childhood and reported having experienced the same situation at home, with her mother being a victim of violence. “I thought that what had happened to my mother would never happen to me,” she confessed.

At the end of her speech, the presenter hugged the victims. In a story posted on her Instagram, she spoke about some of the stories she heard.

“A visually impaired woman who became that way due to violence from her ex-husband. Another who survived a gunshot and another who survived being stabbed. What I experienced is nothing compared to these women,” she said, still very emotional.

Historic

In November 2023, Ana Hickmann accused Alexandre Corrêa, to whom she was married, of bodily harm and domestic violence. The presenter filed a police report and at the same time announced her separation.

The following months were turbulent in the presenter’s life, with Corrêa denying the accusations and suing Ana Hickmann for various reasons. The presenter currently has a restraining order against him. The police are still investigating the attacks.
