Otaviano Costa underwent thoracic surgery due to an aneurysm. The actor and presenter took to social media this Monday (22) to announce that he was hospitalized on July 8 and operated on the 10th.
Otaviano said he found out he would need surgery less than a month ago: “About 30 days ago my life turned upside down. I was in great health, I didn’t have any symptoms, but I had a little pain that was bothering me.” “I decided to see a doctor I didn’t know,” he continued.
The actor explained that he was diagnosed with a dangerous aneurysm: “In a simple echocardiogram, he detected the advancement of something that was putting my life at risk.” “I had an aneurysm of the ascending thoracic aorta at a very dangerous level,” he explained.
“I could have my aorta rupture at any moment, which could be irreversible,” he said, preferring not to take any more risks and deciding to undergo the operation at the SÃrio Libanês Hospital in São Paulo.
The actor said he spent three days in the Intensive Care Unit and, after a week of observation, was discharged from hospital on Monday.
Friends and celebrities left messages of celebration for Otaviano’s health. “Glory to God. You’re fine,” wrote Tata Werneck. “I’m glad you’re fine,” celebrated Luciano Huck.
