Stegi celebrates the beginning of a tender year in the first ten days of October in a party with great names and foreign directors directing Greek actors
In the middle of a hot summer, the Onassis Foundation Shelter prepares us for the coming autumn: the new season 2024-2025 opens with three unique moments, the first ten days of October, with the wish that our nights will be tender.
On October 3, the established party in the neighborhood of Stegis in Neos Kosmos that every year unites thousands of people, with an exciting Greek and international lineup that will be announced soon.
On the stages of Stegi, foreign directors who have conquered the world stage direct Greek actors for the first time. It will begin with Australians Nat Randall and Anna Breckon, who direct Stefania Gouliotis in The Second Woman, an unprecedented theater marathon, an exciting 24-hour happening, on the Central Stage on October 5. One woman, 100 men, in 24 hours. 100 times the same scene is repeated, with the dynamics changing and the chemistry of each new couple revealing the beauty and complexity of human relationships electrifying the stage and the square. Get ready for the most addictive show of your life: a manifesto about love affairs, which kept New York, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Toronto awake, comes to Stegi in its Greek version. Relationships are also the core of the second production that will open the Mikri Skeni on October 10. Tiago Rodrigues, Artistic Director of the Avignon Festival and creator of Katarina and the beauty of killing fascists which was presented last year at Stegi, returns to Stegi to present, for the first time in Greece, his first play, Dance of Lovers . In the Greek version, he directs Nikos Karathanos and Marissa Triantafyllidou, in artistic collaboration with Argyro Chioti. A play-hymn to love and companionship and a great love poem, where two actors become one. Two parallel monologues and two voices that sound as one, as they speak as if following each other’s breath and heartbeat. In this way they tell us the slightly different versions of their great love story.
