Its 2023/24 season concludes with an extremely successful premiere National Opera. In the packed Herodes Atticus Conservatory, the enthusiastic audience praised the opera superstar, the American soprano Nadine Sierra, for her great performance as Violetta Valéry in La Traviata, as well as all the actors of the production. It is noted that the next performances are July 30 and 31, 2024.

The revival of the highly successful production of La Traviata, directed, staged and choreographed by Constantinos Rigos, gave the Athenian audience a rare opportunity to enjoy internationally renowned actors of unique vocal and scenic abilities. In the title role, the star Nadine Sierra, who excels in the world’s greatest operas, gave a performance of historical proportions, knowing real apotheosis from the approximately 5,000 spectators of the performance. In the role of Alfredo, the outstanding British-Italian tenor Freddy De Tommaso confirmed the reputation that follows him. The leading Greek baritone Dimitris Platanias in the role of father Germon moved with his unique interpretation.

For their performances, the singular Chrysanthi Spitadis, Eleni Voudourakis, Yiannis Kalyvas, Nikolas Douros, Nikos Kotenidis, George Papadimitriou, Nikos Katsigiannis, Ioannis Kontellis received warm applause, as well as the ELLS Choir under Agathangelos Georgakatos and the Ballet Dancers of ELS. The distinguished Italian chief musician Pier Giorgio Morandi conducted the ELS Orchestra, bringing out the drama and charm of Giuseppe Verdi’s music.
