Filming for the film “Yparcho”, which deals with the life of Stelios Kazantzidis, with the Christos Mastoras to interpret the great Greek singer.

A choice that surprised many and the truth is that we are all waiting with curiosity to see the result. Christos Mastoras himself, in a long text, deifies the man who essentially, as he says, took a pop singer and made him both Stelios and Kazantzidis.

“The filming of the movie “I exist” about the life of the great Stelios Kazantzidis ended a few days ago. After meetings, auditions, acting lessons, endless rehearsals, plenty of studying and long hours of shooting, we finally arrived on May 19th to hear the coveted “film wrap” from the mouth of Giorgos Tseberopoulos, our director-captain.

George Tseberopoulos. Don’t be fooled by his name shared by half of Greece, the guy is as rare as his last name…

I heard somewhere that on a movie set the government is tyranny. Decisions are taken autocratically. Quickly and efficiently without a lot… George, however, contrary to the norm, often opens a dialogue. He exhausts the margin of error by testing his ideas even at the strangest moment. During a break, in the dark of the night, while swimming, on the boat, etc… He doesn’t stop working on his ideas. Not of course because he doesn’t trust his instincts but because his method is almost scientific.

Trial and error until he finds the truth. It serves realism but almost in an oxymoron shape and poetry through it. How do these two combine, you tell me? Life itself in its realism, in the great moments, tends to be poetic. George almost poetically made me Kazantzidis. He took a pop singer and through his methods that have proven infallible in his films for so many years, he made Stelios and Kazantzidis made him.

This guy must have seen something with his wet expressive eyes and I don’t know what, but he managed to change my life in a few months and I hope also those who will see “I exist”… Cheber, I declare it publicly: I thank you and I will I always have you in my heart… Always an admirer of your work your mind and your heart! You are the great master of cinema! December 19th in cinemas”.
