He spoke to Marie Claire and journalist Anastasia Kamvysi Anastasis Roilos in the context of the promotion of the tour with “Hamlet” which is really going extremely well and despite the fact that the actor is not crazy about talking in interviews he has now found his balance.

-For the last four years you have been working non-stop from one demanding job to the next. Do you find time to deal with what is said and written about you, with your image?

I make sure my work absorbs all my energy, so I end up having neither the time nor the inclination to deal with things that might irritate me. And because some things make me furious, since I haven’t yet found a way to solve them, I keep myself busy with others so I don’t have to deal with them».

-What are the things that make you furious?

But is this the world we live in? “No use of the world is good, to sink.” (laughs) Now with Hamlet I had to do so many interviews that normally the mental cost would be huge for me. I think what kept me soft and smiling is that I say on stage things that I believe deeply, so there was a balance in me.

That and avoiding watching the interviews afterwards. I accidentally fell into one and I’m like, “I’m not the one.” We don’t need to be like this all the time. The other person sees you smiling, joking in an interview, and is fooled. He takes the opportunity not to take the rest seriously.

As Cavafy says in “About a Funny Man”: “A funny person is generally despised, at least not taken seriously, does not inspire much conviction. That’s why I am down to many to present a serious look. I swear it greatly facilitates my affairs».
Internally I laugh and joke a lot. Unfortunately I feel that being kind and smiling is and will always be a weakness for the society we live in».

-I think you’d like to have complete control over your image and you’re just dancing a weird communication tango, one step forward, two steps back. Have you recently opened up a little more to the world through Instagram?

Yes, at one point I uploaded three photos, asked which one they preferred for the show poster, and then responded to the comments. It took me an hour a day for three to four days, but I can say I had fun. It was more me».

-What bothers you around us?

The stupidity. But I don’t want to say that, it sounds lofty. It’s so generic it’s not clean. We need to talk specifically».

-Do you constantly criticize yourself?

Yes. I don’t want to give pressure to be misunderstood as a snob and high-minded, because I’m not».

-How do you want to look?

It is enough for me that the other person knows that they can trust me, that I keep my word, that I value professionalism, dignity, understanding, and the good mood of everyone around me. The stupidity that bothers me is the lack of all of these».
