Cora Schumacher, ex-wife of Formula 1 star Ralph, breaks her silence and claims she feels ‘used’ and missed out on her best years with a gay man

The couple were married for 14 years until they split in 2015 and had a son, David, who is also a racing driver.

Ralph, brother of seven-time champion Michael, revealed last July that he had been having an affair with Etienne’s French business manager on social media.

Cora found out through social media and believes she was psychologically manipulated by Schumacher during their marriage.

“I wish Ralph had included me or at least let me be a part of his decision. It would be a sign of respect,” he told Der Spiegel

“During his F1 career, there were a lot of rumours. I asked him to clarify if what was being said was true, but he always denied it, telling me that I was imagining it all and that maybe I needed psychological help,” Cora said, adding: “When he announced it, it was like a knife to the heart. Today I feel used during the marriage. I feel like I missed my best years. I ask myself many questions. Was he honest with me?’

Their son’s attitude

His son David, 22, shared his support for his father on social media when he came out as gay.

“I’m so glad you finally found someone you really feel very comfortable and safe with, whether it’s a man or a woman,” she wrote.

“I’m 100% with you dad and I wish you the best and congratulations.”
