Singer Anitta, 31, called the national press for a press conference this Tuesday (20), at the Rio Art Museum, when she will announce her partnership with a sandal brand. After the conversation with journalists, she will host a funk dance party with the participation of guests such as L7NNON and Tasha and Tracie. Folha was banned from the event.
The request for accreditation for coverage was made on Wednesday (14). Response from BPMCom, the agency that handles the artist’s communications: “We do not accredit Folha or F5 for Anitta’s events or press conferences”. The reason for the veto was not given, which, according to her advisors, came directly from the singer.
In April, Anitta, through her press office, blocked a Folha reporter from participating in a press conference to promote her new album, “Funk Generation”. The justification given at the time was that the journalist in question had asked a question that bothered her on another occasion, in January.
In the interview, the artist discussed her career, her political positions and was irritated by a question involving Ludmilla, who would perform in April at Coachella 2024. The event is considered the most important music festival in the United States, and Anitta had performed there in 2022. The question referred to the participation of Brazilians in the event and the entry of funk into the foreign market.
THE F5 asked the press office for a formal statement on the decision to bar the website’s journalist from the event on Tuesday. “You can say that the accreditation was not authorized.” Folha, according to what the report found, was the only outlet to be banned from the event.
