Silvia Abravanel was almost adopted by the family of a friend of Silvio Santos

Silvia Abravanel, the daughter of Silvio Santos’ first marriage to Maria Aparecida Vieira, was adopted by the couple when she was three days old and, in a recent interview, she said that she almost ended up being adopted by a family very close to the presenter. Silvinha, as she is better known, was going to be taken in by Manuel and Dalila de Nóbrega. “I was supposed to be Carlos Alberto’s sister and not Silvio’s daughter,” she said.

The presenter, who hosts the children’s show Bom Dia & Cia on SBT, also told how the adoption happened. “I came home when I was three days old. I have a photo of me in a diaper, with only my face showing. I looked like a caterpillar,” she said about the image she has of their first meeting.

She then continued. “There was a lady called Terezinha Mãe Cegonha, who found children for parents who didn’t have any and she was a good friend of Manuel de Nóbrega. Carlos Aberto was older, about 19 years old, and then Manuel said: ‘I don’t want it. Dalila doesn’t want it. But Silvio does. Give it to Cida'”, she said in an interview with the podcast “Bagaceira Chique”, by Luciana Gimenez.

Silvia, who is the mother of Luana, from her marriage to businessman Murilo Abbas, and Amanda, with executive Felipe Coimbra, paid tribute to Silvio Santos on Father’s Day, August 11, to whom she was very close. “My daddy, my hero, my best friend. On this Father’s Day, I want you to feel embraced with all the love, affection and gratitude for me and for your granddaughters Luana and Amanda. Thank you for having made me not only the woman I am, but the warrior human being, the dignified human being, of honest character,” she wrote.

Silvio died at the age of 93, this Saturday (17), victim of bronchopneumonia which, according to the medical report, was a consequence of the H1N1 infection. Maria Aparecida Vieira Abravanel, better known as Cidinha, died at the age of 39 from stomach cancer, in 1977. They were married for 15 years.
