Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are divorcing after 2 years of marriage.

Lopez filed for divorce Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to court documents.

The couple – dubbed Bennifer by the tabloids – officially married in Las Vegas in July 2022 and held a larger wedding ceremony in Georgia the following month.

Their romance began after they met while working on the set of the film Gigli in 2003. They initially planned to marry that year, but called it quits in early 2004.

Almost 2 decades later they rekindled their love.

“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out that love is patient. Twenty years of patience”Lopez said in 2022 after announcing her marriage.

There were months of speculation about their relationship. They reportedly put their Beverly Hills mansion up for sale at $65m (£50m) and were photographed separately without their wedding rings on.

Affleck, a two-time Oscar winner, was previously married to actress Jennifer Garner, whom he met on the set of the 2001 romance Pearl Harbor. They split in 2015 after a decade of marriage and they have three children together.

Lopez has been married 4 times, first to Cuban Ojani Noa from 1997-98.

Then with her ex-dancer Cris Judd from 2001-03 and singer Marc Anthony, with whom she had her twin children, from 2004-14.

Media reports say Lopez, who had changed her last name to Affleck, did not include details of the prenuptial agreement in her divorce filing.

A document filed in Los Angeles Superior Court in the case says that both Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, must share financial information with each other, including current income, expenses, assets and debts.

The document says both are ordered to disclose any changes in their finances “until there is a final agreement on all financial matters in your case.”
