Luisa Mell will not dedicate herself to a political career in 2024. She is expected to run for city councilor, but the activist says that she no longer plans to run for election.
On social media, the activist, who has worked with the animal cause for 22 years, reinforced that she will not be a candidate in the elections due to other priorities.
“It is becoming increasingly clear to me how important politics is for making important changes. However, at this moment, I would not be able to dedicate myself solely to the city of São Paulo, since I have many important projects for animals in various regions of the country,” he said.
“I will always fight for animals. I will never spare or measure efforts to defend those who have no voice,” added Mell.
At the beginning of the year, the activist spoke with party leaders to discuss starting a career in politics.
She discussed the issue with representatives of União Brasil and PSB. During the conversations, a possible candidacy for city councilor in the capital of São Paulo was discussed. At União, she was seen as a strong candidate to pull votes for the party in São Paulo.
Speaking to the Panel, Luisa stated that she had not yet made a decision regarding her candidacy.
In 2023, she won the “Best of the Internet” survey in the pet influencer category, remembered by 17% of those interviewed by Datafolha.
