Famous director Guillermo del Toro, who is currently in Scotland filming Frankenstein, has revealed that he stayed in a haunted hotel and had an experience with ghosts.

The director was confronted by “angry, local” ghosts in his Aberdeen hotel room, which would not let him sleep.

Oscar winner Del Toro wrote to X that he chose to stay in that particular room No4 – after one of the producers staying there checked out after “strange electrical and physical occurrences”.

“In Aberdeen I’m staying in an old hotel from the 1800s. I’m in its most haunted room — which was vacated this morning by one of our producers. Strange electrical and physical occurrences scared her into leaving ASAP. Stay tuned — if anything happens, I’ll report,” del Toro posted on August 20.

The director – who is a lover of the paranormal – also posted pictures of his room.

Yesterday, the Mexican director released an update, saying he decided not to sleep in the room because the “oppressive” atmosphere was preventing him from resting.

“I can only say: Nothing has happened yet, but the atmosphere is oppressive and I will not spend much more time there. I kept the room but I sleep in another room — I need 6 hours of sleep to have a good day on set, but something is in that room, with me.”

A few hours ago he wrote: “I returned to the room after the shoot. This room has more than just vibes – there’s something angry and territorial there. A Piece of Rage”.
