The model and ‘Austin Powers’ actor, Heather Graham made a momentous revelation today.

She informed her audience that she does not speak to her parents, who were against her path, warning her of the dangers of Hollywood.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Graham revealed that she left home at 18 to try her luck in the entertainment industry.

Her father warned her that “the entertainment industry was bad and that Hollywood would claim my soul,” but she noted that she was not deterred.

The former model said her parents belonged to a generation that couldn’t discuss personal matters with their children.

“When the movie came out, I was 18, life at home had become more difficult,” he explained. “I told myself, ‘I have to get out of here, I have to be a movie star,'” she says in the interview, adding: “I got an apartment in West Hollywood with another girl from high school – a model. Living with her was liberating,” he added.

Graham explained that when her family moved from Virginia to Agoura Hills, California, when she was just 9 years old, she struggled with losing her “popular” place in school and becoming an outcast on the West Coast.

“In Virginia, I was a tomboy and I loved exploring the woods. After we moved, I became isolated. You had to be driven everywhere. Without children to play with on the street, I had fewer social interactions and became insecure. I went back to the books and read,” he told the report.

He then enrolled at UCLA to study English. After her first year at university, she decided to drop out to focus on her acting career.

Around this time, Graham landed major roles in the films “Austin Powers” and “Swingers,” which made her realize that she was “self-reliant” and began to reevaluate her relationship with her parents.
