Faustão’s eldest daughter, Lara Silva, 25, spoke about her father’s health, having undergone two transplants, one of a kidney and one of a heart. He returned to the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein on August 15 to continue his treatment.
In an interview with Domingo Espetacular, which will air on Sunday night (1), on Record, Lara tells presenters Carolina Ferraz and Sergio Aguiar that her father is fine. Economical in her comments, she says: “I can only say that everything is fine. We are fine, my father is fine, he is recovering.”
That’s more or less what Faustão himself, 74, told César Filho, from SBT, days after Silvio Santos’ death. At the time, the presenter said that his health was “very good” and that he had overcome the two transplants, but he did not rule out undergoing a new kidney surgery.
“This week there is a prospect of reducing dialysis to once a week, until it stops. There are two expectations. One is that I still have faith in the team that is treating me, but I already have the possibility of having surgery with a doctor from Curitiba in Miami, I had a consultation with him,” he said.
By coincidence, Faustão and Silvio Santos ended up spending the same night at Einstein, the day before the owner of SBT died. In the case of the former “Domingão” presenter, his stay was part of a treatment that takes him to the clinic twice a week.
“People think I’m always hospitalized. No. For about five years now, I’ve been going there twice a week to do dialysis, which is a device that filters out all the kidney issues. And then I knew about Sílvio’s situation, which was serious, as the family knew,” he told Fantástico.
