Tentoglou: “I didn’t want to win just, I wanted to dismantle them, to drop them 40 points”

by

On Saturday night (28/06) the Miltos Tentoglou was found in a stunning racing situation, dismantling competition in European Championships in Madrid, resulting in conquer first place with jumping at 8.46 meters, Performance that is the world’s top this year!

Speaking after the end of the match on the ERT camera, the Greek Olympian said he could have made a jump over 8.50m, but not to reach the Panhellenic record.

At the same time, he stressed that He wanted to ‘break up’ tonight his opponents, to send a positive message to the National team and the battle it gives to stay in the category!

In detail what he said:

Conditions are difficult due to heat, but you have to manage well. I think, however, that it is the good conditions for a performance. I was going to make a bigger jump today, but I lost breath. I wanted to calm down for a long time, so it was good that there were 16 athletes today.

The fourth attempt was good at 8.44m, but I lost the landing. I’m satisfied, I’m fine. Today I wanted to get in and dismantle them, to show a good picture in the team. I didn’t just want to win, I wanted to throw them at what I threw them, 40 points.

I have a match next week in Athens, after a Diamond League and after the Balkans I will be a super record. Today I could just over 8.50m, not for a national record
