Myrian Rios says she regrets posing nude: ‘I was 17 and needed to pay bills’

Myrian Rios, 65, last worked on TV last year in the soap opera “Poliana Moça” on SBT. While waiting for an invitation to return to acting, the actress is remembering parts of her career and, in a recent interview, said that one of her biggest regrets in life was having posed nude. This happened in the late 1970s and Myrian posed at the age of 17 for the now-defunct “Ele e Ela”.

Myrian reinforced that it was a very difficult situation. “It wasn’t comfortable to do, especially at 17 years old. I had just left Minas Gerais and moved to Rio. I lived in a very simple studio apartment in Copacabana and earned a more or less decent salary,” she began in an interview with the Inteligência Ltda podcast.

She didn’t hide the fact that lack of money was the main reason for the sensual photo shoot. “I didn’t have enough money to pay the rent and then the magazine’s offer came. The fee was reasonable and it was enough to pay five months of deposit, since I didn’t have a guarantor, and I still had a little bit left over,” she explained.

Myrian also said that the singer Roberto Carlos, 83, whom she married shortly after, bought all the magazines on the newsstands: “He also bought the negatives of the photos, which belonged to Editora Bloch.” She and Roberto were married for 12 years.

The actress says she still receives criticism because of the photos. “Today I have a different attitude, I evangelize, I used to be part of a Catholic community. Some people on social media say: ‘look at her, now acting like a saint, she’s done this, she’s done that…’. I’m not saying I didn’t do it. I did. But today I have a different mentality than when I was 17. We make mistakes and then we grow and mature.”
