Richard Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, looked radiant at the AmfAR Gala Venezia 2024, held during the 81st Venice Film Festival.

At the gala the “Pretty Woman” star was honored with the “Inspiration Award” for his philanthropic work. Also on the red carpet of Hangar Nicelli was his son, Homer, whom he has with his ex-wife and model Carey Lowell.

For the occasion, the famous actor, who celebrated his 75th birthday on Saturday, August 31, opted for a black tuxedo, white shirt and black bow tie, while Silva wore a stunning sheer dress with blue floral detailing.

“Few in the entertainment industry have done as much as Richard Gere in the fight against AIDS”AmfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost said in a statement and added. “His humanitarian instincts and deep desire to help those on the margins of society make him an inspiration to all of us here.”

According to AARP magazine, in 2002 Gere created the charity “Healing the Divide” whose goal is to help communities in Asia, the Middle East and the United States take on social and humanitarian struggles, including HIV/AIDS awareness.

The gala, hosted by Kate Beckinsale, also honored Antonio Banderas and film producer Mohammed al-Turki, People reports. Gere married his wife in 2018 and they have two sons.
