Ten years were completed on September 2 from the day o Antonis Vardis passed away

His son Yannis Vardis on the occasion of the completion of this decade, he was on the show “Studio 4” and talked about the way he himself has managed this great personal loss and the help of psychotherapy.

“I try to manage it as much as I can. Time softens things a lot, but the wound never heals. You always think of your man. You don’t think about sad situations, you think about more pleasant moments, happy, cheerful moments, moments we have lived together.
In the last 2 years I manage it more correctly, I don’t get so upset” said Yannis and continued:

“Time helps. He came alone. Circumstances, everything like that to do with family, ie friction helps a lot. He came and tied up and untied some things in me, without saying that there aren’t difficult things too.”

While he also referred to the help he has received from a psychologist to manage his grief:

“Because I go to a psychologist, it has helped me a lot. In the last months we realized something, which either consciously or unconsciously I had never realized. We had a conversation where he told me: “When your father died, you died too.”

I think this is very harsh and it shook me up a lot. I mean, I’m still trying to process it inside myself, because he’s right. A big part of me is gone, extinguished, lost. The goal is to bring it back.”

But how does he feel listening to his father’s songs and seeing his image in clips and shows that are everywhere?

“I think that the fact that there is a reminder of my father does me a lot of good. No, the first year, the first year I tried to avoid people who knew my father, because they would tell me things about him and I wanted to forget. I was trying not to listen to his songs.

Now, however, I feel so beautiful that I can at any moment bring him before me, hear his voice, see his image. It is very important for me.”
